Richard Peck and A Season of Gifts

January

Several weeks ago when in New York City, my sister, Maryann, and brother-in-law, George, and I went to a small Italian restaurant with their lovely daughter and granddaughter. Minutes after we arrived, their good friend, Richard Peck, showed up.

The first thing he did was smile and give me a great big bear hug. After that, he gave me a copy of his new book. A SEASON OF GIFTS. As if the book wasn’t treasure enough, later that evening, he signed it.

Lo and behold, he said how much he like our new book and. He even asked me to sign a copy for him and so I did. Imagine that. The very first book I ever signed, I signed for my new friend, Richard Peck.
